What is “Pooph”?

Pooph claims to be the most powerful pet odor eliminator which is free of harsh chemicals, free of fragrances, no VOCs [Volatile Organic Compounds], Hazardous Air Pollutants [HAPs] and yet Commercial grade. The host of the Pooph commercial sprays the pet odor eliminator on his face to prove that it is safe for humans [including kids], pets and mother earth.

How does “Pooph” Work?

The melodramatic Pooph commercial shows Pooph getting rid of the Ammonia smell in an instant. The official website Pooph.com claims that the pet odor eliminator uses the formula used in the Country’s largest Municipal waste companies to get rid of the organic odors. The Pooph ingredients claim to comply with the most strict safety standards.

Pooph REVIEW

Did not Remove the Urine Odor

One user who tried the Pooph on the urine soaked rug mentions in her Review that the odor was back in an hour. The rug was not soaked in the urine, there as just a light stain patch from the 8 lbs puppy and the Pooph did not work as claimed in the official Review on Pooph.com. The Review further mentions that the Pooph is meant to just remove the odor and not the stains, so you have to use a different “stain remover” for that purpose. One other customer tried the Pooph spray on his couch and no effect whatsoever. One customer reports that the formula is too dilute to be effective against pet urine. Another customer claims that it seems like it is just water inside. The problem with the Pooph a reported by a majority of the Reviewers is, not only does the spray not work as claimed, being odourless it does not even mask the foul odour – that’s the worst part.

Does not Remove the Stains Either

The Pooph is not effective once the stains have dried, it might work when the stains are fresh. But most users complain it is not a good stain remover. One Pooph user mentions that she tried the Pooph pet stain remover on her rug as she was leaving for the job, she wetted the area with Pooph spray expecting that the stains would be gone. But she was disappointed to find that the ring of the urine was still there, Pooph had not removed the stain. The same Reviewer mentions that 90% of the odor was gone when she sprayed the Pooph [a lot of it!] but the odor returned a few hours, she complains. There are many more Reviews of Pooph not removing the stains from couches, floors, rugs etc.

Maybe Works for Light Odor

Works fairly well to get rid of the “musky” odor left behind by the dog in the bedroom, but that’s it it is not very effective against strong odors like urine.

Emptied Half of the Pooph Bottle

One Pooph Reviewer claims that he sprayed almost half of the bottle and the urine odor was still there, though it was reduced. The user further says that the commercial is totally misleading and warns not to get sucked into this scam. The Reviewer mentions that there are far better tried-and-tested “Odor Eliminators” out there that actually work.

One Pooph Pet Odor Eliminator Spray user has a very weird experience with it. She tried the Pooph spray on the rug with cat urine, the odor did not go away. But the cat now urinates at the same spot. “Over and above that the Pooph seems to make the urine smell more pronounce”, she complains in her review. “Febreze sprays work better that the Pooph“, many Reviews claim.

Sprayer has Issues

There are few complaints about the Pooph sprayer not working properly. The sprayer leaks and the spray is very weak as reported by some users. Another Reviewer states that the absence of ingredients is the first sign that the Pooph Spray is a scam, he regrets overlooking it.

Our Verdict

We do not recommend the Pooph Pet Odor Eliminator because it does not do what it claims to do. Based on the Reviews it is clear that the claims made in the official website [Pooph.com] are unsubstantiated and the ad is misleading. Besides “Pooph” is not the only pet stain and odor eliminator out there. As one of the Reviewer pointed out that the promoters of Pooph hide the information about the ingredients, that says it all. Do not buy the As Seen On TV Pooph.

  1. My roommate bought a bottle of
Pooph, it arrived today, it didn’t work!
The only thing that disappeared was his money!

  2. What are the ingredients. I can’t find a list of those> I imagine Water and Baking soda spray would do the same and some white vinegar is great for cleaning and weed killing

Thank you for clearing up the thought that pooph is not something I’ll even try! 0

Sprayer broke 1st rime I used it, but it is working great on eliminating odor.

  5. I bought a bottle. I am not sure if the product works well because upon my first attempt to use it, their poorly made bottle fell apart in my hand, hit the floor, splashed a large quantity in my face and eyes and mouth. Almost ten hours later this “safe” product has altered my vision in my left eye, ruined my contact lens & fells like I was sucker punched in the eye. Come to think of it, I was sucker punched by Pooph’s crappy packaging. I don’t dive a D^*n how well their products work if it is going to blind me. Be afraid!! Be VERY afraid!! Once bitten twice shy. I bought my first & very likely my last product from this start upstart. Not better tomorrow I’ll be seeing a Dr first & a greedy lawyer second!

  6. Thought It worked until the next day when the odor came back. Was ready to tell everyone about this product until then. Would not buy again.

  7. Being 80 years old, and living in a house of cats and dogs for years, I’d REALLY like to find something that works good on odors in litter boxes and on linoleum. I know my nose doesn’t work like it used to, so any suggestions would be helpful. Cleaning vinegar is on trial at my house now. I guess I need a commercial cleaner – but it’s impossible to get an unbiased opinion. Thanks for your time.

is there a product that you would recommend

  9. Who writes a review of a product without even having tested it at all – just based on other people’s negative reviews (where are they?!?
That is like me rating a film and writing a film critique about it ONLY based on what some folks have told me in the internet about it but without actually having seen it. That is highly irresponsible. I know many that have tested the product and the science behind it- and they also have been fascinated by the amazing performance. You should give it a try.

  10. My experience with Pooph has been quite good. We’ve used it on returned garbage cans, used sport clothes, cat box, wet smelly area under dog’s chin, and it worked as claimed. Bought two more bottles and gave to friends.

  11. This is the most illiterate, biased, rag-tag assembly of bashing I’ve ever read. Not only is the author unable to write correctly, but they also didn’t do their homework on this product. Something tells me this is a competitor plant. The ingredients are certainly present, and the technology is a radical step forward in odor deactivation. This ignorance is pathetic. Look up BioLargo and their copper-iodine complex. Shame on you.

  12. Pooph works amazingly well.
Why did you not test the product before writing a review?
I have tried most of the Odor Control sprays out there and Pooph is the clear winner!
    Highly recommend!
